The Practice
Ecstatic Dance is a free-form movement practice — no steps to learn, no partner required, no phones on the floor. DJ-guided music creates a container in which you can move however your body needs to move, fully and freely, in a sober, safe, and intentional space.
Maui Ecstatic Dance was established to bring the internationally recognized standards of the ecstaticdance.org framework to our island community — prioritizing safety, clear community agreements, and accountable facilitation above all else.

Our Story
Maui Ecstatic Dance grew out of a simple conviction: that Maui deserves a dance community that takes the global ecstatic dance principles seriously — not as an afterthought, but as its foundation.
We began facilitating and organizing under this name to offer an alternative rooted in transparency, safety, and alignment with the wider international ecstaticdance.org community of practice.
"Maui Ecstatic Dance" established as an open community name and organizing platform for free-movement events on Maui, Hawaiʻi.
The name is registered with the State of Hawaiʻi Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Business Registration Division, and reflects our ongoing commitment to a legitimate, accountable, and community-centered dance space on the Valley Isle.
